Waideula Bridge to Temporarily Close for Repairs, Says Fiji Roads Authority

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced the temporary closure of the Waideula Bridge along Wainivesi Road (off Kings Road) to allow for critical maintenance works.

In a public advisory issued today, FRA said the bridge will be closed from 7:00pm to 5:00am, beginning Saturday, 28 June and continuing through to Sunday, 30 June 2025.

According to the Authority, the closure is necessary to replace the bridge’s deteriorating timber deck.

“There is no alternative route to divert traffic during the closure period,” FRA said. “However, a stand-by emergency vehicle will be stationed at the site to assist residents in the event of any unplanned emergency during the works.”

FRA is urging members of the public to plan ahead and exercise caution in the area.

“We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we carry out these essential improvements,” the Authority said, adding that further updates will be provided through official communication channels.
