Wales has set an unwanted record after suffering a heavy 52-20 defeat to the Wallabies in Cardiff this morning, marking their 11th consecutive loss in international rugby.

This defeat follows a string of disappointing results, including last weekend’s loss to Fiji, which had already tied their previous record of 10 straight losses, set under former coach Steve Hansen in 2002 and 2003.

Today’s result pushes the losing streak to 11 games, setting a new low for the team under coach Warren Gatland.

Since their last win over Georgia in October 2023 during the Rugby World Cup, Wales has lost to teams like Argentina, Scotland, England, Ireland, France, Italy, South Africa, Fiji, and twice to Australia.

With the world champions South Africa next on the schedule for this Saturday, Wales faces the difficult challenge of going an entire year without a Test win — a streak not seen since 1937, when they lost all three of their matches that year.
