Woman to Appear in Court for Alleged Scam Involving $165

A 40-year-old woman is set to appear in the Nabouwalu Magistrates Court today, facing charges of fraud after allegedly scamming a victim out of $165.
According to police, the incident took place on July 24 this year when the woman used the M-PAiSA mobile payment platform to dishonestly obtain the money.
The victim had seen a Facebook post advertising an iPhone for sale at $330 and reached out to the accused to buy the phone.
The woman instructed the victim to send $165 as a deposit, promising to deliver the phone by courier.
However, after the victim made the payment, the woman could not be contacted.
The victim later reported the matter to the Tavua Police Station, leading to an investigation.
The woman will face charges in court for allegedly obtaining financial gain through dishonest means.
