The Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations, Honourable Agni Deo Singh, has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring women in Fiji are provided with safe, fair and respectful workplaces as the country marks International Women’s Day 2025.
The Ministry marked the occasion with a small celebration alongside staff on Friday, ahead of the official International Women’s Day which will be observed on Sunday, 8 March.
Minister Singh said International Women’s Day serves as an important reminder that women must be supported, protected and treated fairly in every workplace across the country.
“Women play a vital role in driving Fiji’s economic growth, strengthening families and communities, and shaping the future of our nation,” he said.
The Minister emphasised that ensuring safe and fair working environments for women remains a key priority for the Government.
“No woman should face discrimination, harassment or unsafe working conditions in her place of work. Every woman deserves dignity, respect and equal opportunity to succeed.”

“We are committed to ensuring that women have access to fair employment opportunities, safe workplaces, and the support systems needed to grow and lead in their careers.”

“Empowering women is not only the right thing to do, it is essential for building stronger workplaces, stronger communities and a stronger Fiji.”

“As we mark International Women’s Day, let us reaffirm our collective responsibility to create workplaces where women feel safe, valued and empowered to reach their full potential.”
