Youth politician and political commentator Ratu Sailosi Sirisirivalu has called for the full release of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) report into Barbara Malimali’s findings, arguing that transparency and accountability are essential for good governance.
“The Commission of Inquiry into Barbara Malimali’s findings was paid for with taxpayer money—our money. The people have the right to see the full report,” Sirisirivalu stated. “A good government is based on honesty and accountability. Keeping this report secret only raises more doubts and questions.”
Sirisirivalu warned that withholding the full report could erode public trust in the government. “If the full COI report is not released, people will lose trust in the government.
What is being hidden? Why are leaders refusing to share the truth?
These are important questions that need answers now.”
He emphasized that the public would not tolerate secrecy on matters of national importance, especially when public funds were used.
“We demand the full release of the COI report immediately. No more secrets! People have the right to know how their money was used. Democracy and justice require openness—without it, there is no accountability.”
Sirisirivalu urged the responsible authorities to act swiftly and release the report. “We urge the responsible authorities to do the right thing: Release the full Barbara Malimali COI report now.”
The call for transparency has sparked growing debate, with many in the public echoing Sirisirivalu’s concerns.
As the demand for openness gains traction, the government faces increasing pressure to justify its decision to withhold the report.
