FICAC Completes First Week of Kadavu Anti-Corruption Operation

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) has completed the first week of its Kadavu Operation, with awareness programmes carried out in communities and schools across the island.

The operation focused on promoting good governance, integrity, accountability and anti-corruption practices.

During the past two days, the team visited Nabukalevu-i-ra, Kabariki and Daviqele villages, conducting community awareness sessions on corruption prevention and good governance.

At Nabukalevu Primary School, students from Years 1 to 8 took part in the Good Kiddo programme, while teachers received anti-corruption awareness training.

The school’s Management Committee also participated in a session on best practices for managing the Free Education Grant, focusing on responsible and transparent use of funds.

Similar sessions were held at Nabukalevu District School, where students participated in the Good Kiddo programme and teachers received training on anti-corruption awareness and Free Education Grant management.

The first week of the operation concluded with a community awareness session at Muaninuku Village.

FICAC’s Kadavu Operation is aimed at strengthening awareness of corruption prevention and encouraging communities and schools to uphold integrity, transparency and accountability.
