Nakauvadra High Students Travel from Ra for USP Open Day
A group of students from Nakauvadra High School in Rakiraki made the journey from Ra Province to Suva to attend the University of the South Pacific (USP) Open Day and learn more about their future study options.
The students spent the day visiting different booths, speaking with current university students and staff, and exploring the programmes available at USP.
At the Journalism booth, the visitors had the opportunity to try professional camera equipment and learn about media production, reporting and storytelling.
The students said the trip gave them a better understanding of university life and helped them learn more about the courses and career opportunities available after high school.
Although a long journey home awaited them, with a bus ride of about three and a half hours back to Rakiraki, the students said the experience was worthwhile. The visit allowed them to explore the university environment firsthand and gain valuable information to help with their future study plans.
USP Open Day brought together students from schools across Fiji, giving them the chance to explore their interests and discover the many programmes offered at the university.
