Women Artisans Showcase Pacific Products at Suva Makete

Close to 80 women market vendors and artisans from Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu are showcasing their products at the Fiji Pacific Women Makete 2026 in Suva.

The regional event was officially opened by Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran at the Lower Suva Civic Centre.

The Makete provides women with an opportunity to sell their products, exchange experiences, build regional networks and explore new business opportunities.

Minister Kiran said markets are important platforms for women to strengthen their livelihoods and contribute to families, communities and national economies.

She encouraged vendors and artisans to explore value-added products, cooperatives, digital platforms and tourism markets to increase their income while promoting Pacific culture.
