13-year-old allegedly raped by six senior students

A 13-year-old boy was allegedly raped by six senior students at a school in Lautoka, with Police investigating the report.

The boy’s mother alleges the incidents occurred over several months, from last year until October this year. She says she reported the matter to Police last month after learning of the alleged abuse.

She claims the students threatened her son, warning that reporting the alleged abuse to teachers would tarnish his reputation and that of his family.

The mother says her son is no longer attending school because he is traumatised and fears for his safety. She says he has also become unusually quiet and is not eating well.

She is calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure her son is protected and receives justice, saying no child should fear attending school.

Police have confirmed receiving the report and interviewing two suspects. Investigations are continuing to determine whether others were involved.
