150,000 Litres of Water Sent to Vatulele Amid Shortages

The MLC Vunilagi has departed for Vatulele Island carrying 150,000 litres of water to assist communities experiencing water shortages.

The vessel left at 3:20am today, September 24, as part of the Government’s ongoing response to water shortages and the impacts of El Niño.

Minister for Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport Ro Filipe Tuisawau said the delivery would provide essential water assistance to affected communities.

Similar water relief has also been provided to communities on Batiki Island.

The Government says it will continue providing support to communities facing water shortages and strengthen preparations for the effects of El Niño.
