Dr Aalisha Sahukhan Appointed Permanent Secretary for Health

Dr Aalisha Sahukhan has been appointed Fiji’s new Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services.
Dr Sahukhan brings extensive experience in public health, having played a key role in Fiji’s response to major disease outbreaks, including measles, leptospirosis and the COVID-19 pandemic.
She previously held senior leadership positions within the Ministry of Health and represented Fiji in international health negotiations with the World Health Organization.
Public Service Commission Chairman Luke Rokovada welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence in her ability to strengthen Fiji’s healthcare system.
Health Minister Ratu Dr Atonio Lalabalavu also welcomed her appointment, acknowledging her contributions to public health.
