Fiji Police Force Takes Over Presidential Guard Duties

The Fiji Police Force has taken over the duties of the Presidential Guard from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces following a ceremonial handover at State House today.

The handover took place during the monthly Ceremonial Change of Presidential Guards at the main entrance of State House.

The RFMF formally handed over the Presidential Guard responsibilities to the Fiji Police Force, marking the beginning of the police force’s latest rotation of guard duties.

The Fiji Police Band accompanied the incoming guards as they marched into State House to relieve the outgoing personnel.

The outgoing guards marched off with the Republic of Fiji Navy Band, bringing the ceremonial proceedings to an end.

The ceremony reflects the longstanding cooperation between Fiji’s security institutions in carrying out ceremonial and security responsibilities at the State House.
