ACCF Extends Condolences Following Fatal Votualailai Crash

The Accident Compensation Commission Fiji (ACCF) has expressed its condolences to the families of the three people who died following a road accident at Votualailai in the Western Division on Sunday night.

ACCF Executive Chair Maritino Nemani said the tragedy highlighted the importance of motorists exercising care and responsibility on Fiji’s roads.

Nemani said ACCF’s thoughts were with the families mourning the loss of their loved ones, as well as those who were injured in the accident and are receiving treatment.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones and with all those injured in this accident. We also wish those receiving treatment a full and speedy recovery,” he said.

He reminded motorists that their actions behind the wheel can affect not only themselves, but also passengers, pedestrians and other road users.

“A moment of poor judgement on the road can have consequences that last a lifetime. We urge everyone to drive safely and responsibly so that we can prevent further loss of life on our roads,” Nemani said.

He also called on drivers to follow road rules, remain vigilant and avoid actions that could endanger themselves or others.

ACCF says it will continue its efforts to promote road safety awareness and responsible behaviour among road users throughout Fiji.
