Fiji Rolls Out Disaster Risk Reduction Tracker

Fiji has launched a National Disaster Risk Reduction Policy Online Tracker to strengthen disaster preparedness and monitor risk reduction efforts across government.

Officials from more than 30 ministries and agencies began using the platform this week to track progress and improve reporting.

The system will also support Fiji’s commitments under the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030.

Fiji loses an estimated FJD $500 million annually to climate-related disasters, with floods and cyclones accounting for about 80 percent of events.

The tracker was developed for the NDRMO through the EU-funded Building Safety and Resilience in the Pacific programme, implemented by SPC.
