New Aerobic Gymnastics Club to Develop Young Talent in Nadi

New Aerobic Gymnastics Club to Develop Young Talent in Nadi

A new Aerobic Gymnastics Club is being established in Nadi to encourage more young people to take up the sport and develop their skills.

The club, led by Kunjal Nair, aims to provide training opportunities for children, teenagers and young adults, with a long-term goal of developing athletes who could represent Fiji in regional and international competitions.

Nair, who is also a Board Member of the Gymnastics Federation of Fiji and Founder and Director of a Wellness Foundation and Weight Management Clinic, said the initiative was inspired by his passion for fitness and promoting healthier lifestyles.

“Aerobic Gymnastics combines fitness, strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, and artistic expression. I believe it offers an exciting opportunity to make gymnastics more accessible and appealing to a wider range of participants, particularly children and young people,” he said.

The club plans to introduce structured training programmes, beginning with basic skills before progressing to more advanced training and competitive opportunities.

Nair said the initial focus would be on attracting interested participants, developing coaching capacity and raising awareness of the sport.

He also hopes to work with schools, communities, coaches and the Gymnastics Federation of Fiji to help grow Aerobic Gymnastics across the country.

“My broader vision is to see Aerobic Gymnastics become a recognised and sustainable discipline within Fiji’s gymnastics community, with opportunities for athletes from different backgrounds to participate, develop their abilities, and represent their clubs and country in the future,” he said.

Nair said the club would also focus on building confidence, discipline, teamwork and healthy lifestyles among young people.

He hopes athletes who begin their training at the club will eventually have opportunities to compete nationally and represent Fiji internationally.

The programme is expected to begin once the necessary training arrangements and resources are in place.
