Fiji Red Cross Strengthens Suva Branch Through BOCA Training

The Fiji Red Cross Society has strengthened the capacity of its Suva Branch through a BOCA 2.0 Training involving 14 executive volunteers and key branch members.

The training provided participants with an opportunity to review the branch’s operations from 2023 to 2025, including volunteer numbers, income sources, assets and areas requiring improvement.

Using the BOCA Matrix, participants assessed 11 key areas of branch performance, identified challenges and developed practical solutions to improve sustainability and volunteer engagement.

The programme also focused on strengthening internal administration and ensuring the branch remains prepared to effectively serve communities.

Suva Branch volunteer Samuela Tabakau said the training allowed volunteers to reflect on their contribution and strengthen their commitment to the Red Cross mission.
