476 Students Receive Emergency Go-Bags to Strengthen Disaster Preparedness
A total of 476 students across six project schools have received child-friendly Emergency Go-Bag Kits as part of efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness among children.
The kits were distributed by Save the Children Fiji, in partnership with Save the Children Australia, from 15 to 24 September 2026 under the Child-Friendly Climate and Disaster Resilience Education Initiative, supported by QBE Insurance Australia.
Each kit contains essential emergency items, including a torch, first aid kit, reflective vest, whistle, emergency contact card, hand sanitiser and educational materials.
Students also participated in awareness sessions on how to use the items and respond safely before, during and after disasters.
The initiative aims to build children’s confidence and preparedness while promoting a culture of resilience that extends to families and communities.
