Inclusive Climate Action Project Concludes in Fiji
The Inclusive Climate Action for Fiji Project has concluded with the launch of reports aimed at strengthening community participation in addressing climate change.
The initiative was supported by the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation, Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation, the European Union and community partners.
The project highlighted the importance of ensuring that persons with disabilities, older people, women, young people and climate-vulnerable communities have a meaningful voice in climate planning and decision-making.
Under the theme “Nothing About Us Without Us,” organisers stressed that inclusion must go beyond consultation and involve communities in putting climate solutions into action.
Young people were also encouraged to contribute their skills and ideas while helping identify voices that may be missing from important discussions.
The partners said inclusive participation, local knowledge and youth engagement are essential to building stronger and more resilient Fijian communities in the face of climate change.
