Public Views Will Be Considered Before Third Reading, Says Rabuka

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has assured the public that their submissions on the Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2026 will be considered before it proceeds to its third reading in Parliament.

Speaking at a public consultation at Nadi Civic Centre Hall on 17 October, Rabuka said the Special Committee would discuss the views and concerns raised during its deliberations later this month.

Rabuka, who chairs the Committee, thanked residents who attended and shared their views, including those who provided written submissions.

The session allowed members of the public to ask questions and raise concerns about the proposed constitutional amendments.

Nationwide consultations will continue, with the next session scheduled for Monday, 19 October, at Ba Market Hall from 10am to 1pm.

The Committee has encouraged the public to attend and contribute to the discussions.
