Carpenter Arrested in Suspected Drug Find

A 33-year-old carpenter from Cunningham, Suva, was arrested last night after police allegedly found suspected illicit drugs and more than $2,000 cash in his possession.

Police said officers patrolling Cunningham conducted a routine search of the man and found a clear plastic bag containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine, along with dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Officers also seized $2,121.20 in cash, which police suspect to be proceeds of crime.

The man remains in police custody as investigations continue.
